Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn (pbuh) used to say when a seeker of knowledge approached him:

"Welcome to the legacy of the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf)." Then he would say: "Indeed, when a seeker of knowledge leaves his home, every moist and dry part of the earth upon which his foot steps glorifies Allah on his behalf, all the way to the seventh earth."
