Imam al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:

"Luqman said to his son: ... O my son, the world is a deep ocean in which many have drowned. Therefore, let your ship be Godwariness (Taqwa), its cargo be faith, its sail be trust in God (Tawakkul), its custodian be reason, its guide be knowledge, and its passengers be patience."
